10 years transforming knowledge into citizenship
For 10 years, we have believed in political education as the key to forming a generation of citizens who are aware of and committed to democracy. We began our journey on delicate ground, pioneers in a historically neglected ecosystem, with the mission of bringing political education to all regions of Brazil.
With resilience and commitment, we have reached millions of people with our content; trained thousands of leaders capable of proposing solutions to public problems; trained teachers to bring the agenda of citizenship into the classroom; transformed the lives of thousands of young students, awakening their interest in civic life; and continued to expand our impact to other countries in Latin America.
Proud of what we have accomplished in our first decade, join us in building the next 10 years!

A decade of innovation
Over the course of 10 years, we have built a solid ecosystem of knowledge and leadership, in a journey marked by the courage to reimagine politics and a commitment to citizenship.

The beginning of a journey
The Politize! portal is born, the result of crowdfunding that mobilized hundreds of people. With accessible and pluralistic language, the dream of democratizing political education has become a reality.

Digital gains scale
A year later, the portal had already reached more than 1.7 million people. With new formats and an expanding team, Politize! began to establish itself as a national benchmark in digital political education.

From portal to content hub
We expanded formats, launching new initiatives and educational resources, diversified our distribution channels, and achieved an unprecedented scale of impact. It was the year we ceased to be just a portal and consolidated ourselves as a true hub of political content, reaching millions of Brazilians on different platforms.

From digital to communities
The Politize Ambassadors Program is born! It brings political education workshops to schools and communities, impacting tens of thousands of people across the country. Seven classes were formed in 2018, with 494 activities and more than 56,000 people impacted.

Movement creates territories
We created Politize! Embassies, which became permanent local hubs for citizen engagement across the country. Over a thousand workshops were held, and the first Politize! National Meeting was held in person in São Paulo.

Political education that becomes part of the curriculum
The Active Citizenship School Program was launched, positioning Politize! as a relevant player in the formal education ecosystem. By bringing together state departments, educators, and young people, we showed Brazil that school is the best place to begin the process of citizenship training.

Brazil learns with Politize!

Renewed identity, expanded impact

Network consolidation

Political education without borders
Politize! has expanded its operations beyond Brazil, launching portals in Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina, as well as an English-language website to reach new audiences. From a purpose that began in Brazil, a Latin American vocation is now emerging, with the ambition to expand throughout the region with our complete portfolio.

10 years transforming knowledge into citizenship
It took ten years of courage to break new ground on a sensitive but essential issue. Politize! survived several difficult moments, evolved constantly, and impacted millions of people, proving that it is possible to innovate and inspire to strengthen citizenship in Brazil.
A decade of impact
For every dollar invested in Politize!, 12 dollars are returned in social impact (SROI, 2023). This result is reflected in the stories of those who, with the support of Politize!, have transformed knowledge into citizenship. These are people of different ages, regions, and worldviews who have decided to take action to change the reality around them: young people taking their first steps in politics, teachers who recognize the role of citizenship in the education of each student, and many others who experience and multiply the reach of our projects.

Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais | Writer for the Content Producers Network
Isis discovered Politize! while still in high school, when the portal's content was her main reference for learning about politics..
Years later, he joined Politize!'s Content Producers Network to improve his writing and give back to the community, helping to bring quality information to people across Brazil..
“I discovered Politize! during high school. At that time, the content on the website helped me with my schoolwork and research, and was always useful when I wanted to better understand certain topics. That's what got me involved in political causes.”

Rio de Janeiro - RJ | Ambassador for the Politize Ambassadors Program!
For Íris, being a civic leader means acting with purpose to transform realities.
At Politize!, she found tools to turn her desire for change into action. Based on the Public Policy Canvas methodology, Íris created a public policy proposal that seeks to standardize police incident reports and data collection on missing persons in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
“From the moment I joined Politize!, I stopped to realize that there's no point in wanting to change the world if I don't change my surroundings.”

Itabuna, Bahia | Student in the Active Leadership course!
At age nine, Jhuly heard that she needed to understand her place in the world. She turned her restlessness into motivation and became a student leader.
After completing her training at Liderança Ativa!, Politize!'s training program for young student leaders, Jhuly realized that what she knew was only the beginning and that she could go further.
“I knew I was just a grain of sand on the beach. [With Politize!] I discovered the world of leadership and started to interact more. It was Active Leadership! that helped me build an intervention proposal to present to my school.”

Manaus - AM | Teacher participating in Distance Learning Teacher Training
As a teacher, Raphael believes that teaching means understanding how students' daily lives connect with the educational content.
Politize's Distance Learning Teacher Training program provided him with an opportunity to reflect on his role in the classroom and how to contribute to the development of young leaders.
“When [Politize!] proposes discussions that lead teachers to reflect on their social role and encourage students to rethink their role in society and the meaning of school—you plant a seed so that we, as educators, also begin to see students as protagonists in the teaching and learning process.”

Manaus - AM | Interim manager of the New Secondary Education program at the Amazonas Secretariat
Jeffreys has dedicated himself to creating materials that support educators in implementing the New High School. For him, producing materials can be a major challenge. In this context, a partnership with Politize! was established in 2022.
"The New High School brought new legislation, and we began to study the more specific parts. (...) We had some plans, we already had some ideas, but we needed a partnership to add value because, like it or not, it was just us here. And we managed to create a bond [with Politize!]. It was great when the materials arrived. The partnership and our dialogues have always been fantastic."

Mongaguá, São Paulo | Teacher for the Teacher Training in Leadership and Citizenship Project.
Paula always wanted to see changes in education. Her classroom experience took on new meaning after training with Politize!.
Sometimes, when the boys were debating an issue and starting to get heated, I would think, “I better cut this short.” I found myself in that situation many times. Before, I would stop the discussion immediately and take it to the administration. But in the [Politize!] course, I realized that, as a citizen, I need to stop and talk to everyone so that we can reach a common agreement—something that is good for everyone. That was one of the things that caught my attention the most in the course and changed me."

Rio de Janeiro - RJ | Member of the Politize! Leaders Network.
Lidiane discovered Politize! in 2018 and fell in love with the organization's purpose. The training connected her studies, her work as a public manager, and her role as a citizen:
“[Today] I take the knowledge I have from my network, the knowledge I have within the Politize! Leaders Network itself, and I can understand how to apply that within my department. For example, I think about how to incorporate democracy into the public policies I am creating. I think this combination is what has made sense to me—this is how I understand that I am working toward democracy.”

Teresina - PI | Politize Ambassador!
Hidelgann always wanted to change the world. However, he never felt he had enough education to put that desire into practice. Politize! helped him understand politics, how the state works, and how to transform realities.
“Being an Ambassador is more than just spreading the message! Many things I wanted to change were connected to politics. I needed to learn and understand how everything works in order to bring about the transformation I so desperately wanted to see. [Politize!] helped me understand who I am as an individual. I wouldn't have the same worldview I have today if I hadn't participated.”

Aparecida de Goiânia - GO | Writer for the Content Producers Network
Stela wanted to participate in a project that encouraged dialogue and citizen engagement, helping people get involved in issues that affect them. Politize! emerged as a bridge for this.
“Since I started as a volunteer, I have been able to see firsthand the positive impact that the platform has on society. Throughout the year, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the production of educational and accessible content that helps people better understand political issues and actively participate in the democratic life of the country. I feel that I am part of a project that is transforming the way people view politics and citizenship.”

Did you know that...
In 2023, we took our expertise in political education to the global stage.
This support gave us, for the first time, some financial breathing room to refine our work with more calm, focus, and power.
The nominations were for the game “Vonenite!”, created in partnership with Pixel Hunters in 2024. Within Fortnite, we simulated the voting experience as part of our Olhe.Vote.Mude. campaign.
With the support of 533 donors, who contributed R$ 67,395.00 through crowdfunding, the Politize! portal was launched on July 1, 2015. That is why we celebrate this date as our official anniversary.
In 2017, we incorporated the Brazilian flag into our logo, with the colors green, blue, and yellow. In 2022, we removed the flag from the logo, adopted a more colorful and dynamic brand—and officially became Politize!, in the feminine form.
The reality is that we started our operation in Florianópolis with a team of four young people with the goal of transforming Brazil. Today, we work remotely, but our headquarters remain in the capital of Santa Catarina.
According to One Young World's Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology, between 2015 and 2023, every dollar invested in Politize! returned $12 in impact to society.
These resources come from donations, public notices, and services rendered, and allow us to produce accessible digital content and campaigns, train citizen leaders across the country, and promote political education in Brazilian schools.
Ten years of Politize! are proof that bold dreams can come true when shared by people with the same purpose, guided by strategic vision, management, and transparency.
To everyone who contributed to driving our work forward, funding organizations, partners, and our donors, we thank you very much.
